Halo Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 30, 2026

Halo is a migraine and headache diary. A health diary is among the most personal data a phone can hold, and Halo is built around that fact. The short version:

Your health data stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. No accounts, no servers of ours, no ads, no analytics SDKs, no tracking, no data sale, ever. We cannot read your diary.

Your attack diary

Attacks, symptoms, medications, notes and daily check-ins are stored in a database on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, that database syncs through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database, under your Apple Account. It is end-to-user private: we operate no server, we hold no copy, and we cannot read it. Sync can be turned off in Settings at any time.

Apple Health (cycle and sleep)

With your permission, Halo reads menstrual-cycle and sleep data from Apple Health to look for patterns in your attacks. That analysis happens entirely on your device. Halo writes nothing to Health, and Health data is never included in iCloud sync, exports you didn't ask for, or anything that leaves the device. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy → Health.

Location and weather

Halo uses your approximate, city-level location to fetch local weather (barometric pressure, temperature, humidity) so it can stamp attacks with the conditions before them and build your risk forecast. Weather comes from Apple's Weather service (Apple Weather): the framework sends your approximate location to Apple to answer the lookup, governed by Apple's privacy policy, we never receive your location. Halo stores the returned weather values, not your coordinates history, and precise location is never requested.

Face ID lock

You can lock Halo behind Face ID / Touch ID. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS; Halo only learns "unlocked" or "not unlocked" and never sees biometric data.

Notifications

Reminders and medication follow-ups are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved, and notification content never includes your health details by default.

Exports you create

The doctor PDF and CSV export exist so you can share your own data with people you choose. They are generated on-device and go only where you send them. Nothing is exported automatically.

Purchases

Halo Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app stores only an anonymous entitlement status ("Pro is active") on your device.
