Terms of Use

Last updated 12 September 2026

Pitot reads weather. It does not know your airspace, and it never says a flight is safe, legal, cleared or permitted. You are responsible for your flight, for the rules where you are flying, and for checking your aviation authority's own tool before you take off.

What the app is

Pitot shows forecast weather hour by hour against limits that you set yourself, plus the public planetary K index and the twilight hours. Its verdicts are go, caution and no-go, and they describe the WEATHER against YOUR OWN numbers. They are not an authorisation, a clearance or advice.

What the app is not

The forecast comes from other people

Hourly weather is Apple Weather's. The planetary K index is NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center's. Neither is ours, neither is guaranteed by us, and an outage or an error in either shows up in the app. Pitot labels how old a reading is on every screen that draws one.

Purchases

Today and tomorrow are free for one place and one aircraft, for good. The Outlook Pass unlocks the rest. It is sold as a subscription or as a one time purchase; prices are shown in your own currency on the purchase screen before you buy, and any introductory offer is stated there too. A subscription renews at the end of each period until you cancel it in the App Store. A one time purchase does not renew. Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's standard licence terms, and refunds are Apple's to give.

Liability

Pitot is provided as it is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using it, including anything that happens to an aircraft.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
