Privacy Policy
Quint collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no third party SDK and no server. The app contains no networking code in any target, so nothing it holds can be transmitted anywhere. The App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected because that is literally true.
What stays on your device
- Your crate. One record per reading: the key and its mode, the harmonic code, the tempo, the loudness figures, the track's name and when you read it.
- Your sets. The runs of tracks you build and the order you put them in.
- Your settings. Notation, note names, the tempo window and which loudness targets you look at.
- Recordings, only if you keep one. A snippet captured from a speaker is discarded when the reading ends unless you tap Keep. A kept snippet is removed with its reading.
Files you import are not copied
When you import a track, Quint stores a reference to where that file already lives and reads it there. It does not take a copy into its own storage. A file shared in from another app is copied into a private inbox, analyzed, and the copy is deleted.
The microphone
The microphone is used only while you are holding the record bar, and only to read the key and tempo of what is playing in the room. Audio captured that way is measured and discarded unless you keep it. Quint does not record in the background and declares no background audio mode.
Your music library
If you pick a song from your music library, Quint reads that song to analyze it. Nothing about your library is catalogued, uploaded or remembered beyond the reading you asked for. Apple Music streaming tracks are protected and are refused with an explanation.
What is never collected
No name, no email address, no contacts, no location, no advertising identifier, no device identifier and no audio. There is no crash reporting SDK and no analytics SDK in the app.
Purchases
Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether you are entitled to Pro; the app never sees your payment details, your Apple Account or your name. Nothing about a purchase is sent anywhere by Quint, because Quint sends nothing anywhere.
Backups you make
Export writes a file that holds your crate and your sets. Where that file goes is your choice and outside the app: if you put it in iCloud Drive, Apple's terms cover it from that point. Import reads such a file back.
Children
Quint is not directed at children and collects nothing from anybody.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Because the app collects nothing, a change here would mean the app itself had changed, and that would arrive as an app update you choose to install.
